The Power of Bone Broth

Bone broth that is organic, non-GMO, non-canned, and made with care is incredibly healing. We often use bone broth in nutrition plans with our clients to help them heal from leaky gut, delayed food allergies, immune system disorders, arthritis, and other ailments.

Bone broth is an upgraded version of the standard soup stock, because it’s made for more than just favor, therefore it takes much longer. Soup stocks are generally simmered for a couple hours where as bone broths are simmered for 24 hours to three days to extract the healing nutrients hidden in the bones such as calcium, magnesium, amino acids, glucosamine, and trace minerals.

Since bone broth is a liquid, it is easier for the body to digest and absorb the nutrients, and makes the healing process much simpler and faster.

For people who suffer from leaky gut (which is a large majority of people these days), you need to do more than just stop eating the foods which are causing you problems. You also need to heal from the damage done to your digestive system. The gelatin found in bone broth is a great “healer and sealer” for the compromised gut lining, and the nutrients in the broth helps support digestion.

Inflammation Reducing
The amino acids present in the bone broth helps to reduce inflammation as well as the compounds pulled from the cartilage, which is extremely helpful for reducing joint pain and healing joint damage.

Bone Health
Bones need absorbable calcium to stay strong and build. In order to absorb calcium, magnesium must be present. Bone broth provides both magnesium and calcium which will help keep bones strong but also heal weak bones over time.

Hair & Nail Growth
Bone broth is effective in supporting nail and hair growth from the gelatin pulled from bones.

Good Source of Protein
About 8 oz of bone broth contains about 9 g of protein.

Cold, Flu, and Infection Fighter
A study noted by Chest medical journal in October 2000 shows that chicken soup has been found to reduce inflammation and infection of the upper respiratory tract.

Healthier than Supplements
The body wants to extract its nutrition through food rather than supplements. Giving the body nutrient dense bone broth is an incredibly healthy way to take in vitamins and minerals in the most natural forms.
